Frequently Asked Questions

What standards must candidate meet?

  • Have no prior criminal record
  • Have, had or willing to take an oral drug screening test.
  • All candidates are subjected to a one year commitment to remain with a family if they are hired for permanent placements.

What is the going salary rate for the nannies you place?

A nannies salary can range from $350 a week to $700 a week.

Do nannies receive benefits such as paid vacations, etc?

All our families should provide a minimum of six paid holidays and at least one week of paid vacation. The family will discuss vacation time and health insurance with the nanny. All live in nannies should be provided with room and board, access to a vehicle for personal use as well as work use.

What is the average age of the nannies you place?

The nannies range from 18 to 65 years old. Some families have a preference in age and we are here to help you with your preference.

Where do the nannies come from?

Our nannies come from all over the United States. All the nannies must be US citizens or be able to legally accept employment in the United States.

How long does the process take to hire a nanny?

We will do our best so it is not a lengthy process. It is important that both nannies and families fill out all documents correctly so we can place the right nanny with the right family. The process can take 2-5 weeks, but it is hard to put an exact time on how long the process takes.

Do the nannies have a fee to pay?

The nanny never has to pay any fees.

What does the screening process consist of?

Our screening process starts with a face-to-face interview with the candidate. Nanny care and More does not do any interviews over the telephone with the candidates, only face-to-face. All candidates must fill out and complete all sections of the nanny application. If the candidate meets all requirements we then check every reference. Once we get great feedback from the references we then do a professional background investigation on the candidate which includes driving records, criminal background check, and social security verification.

What is the follow up procedure?

At Nanny Care and More we want to make sure the nanny and the family are satisfied with each other. We are available after employment begins to assist with issues that arise during the course of employment. If there are any problems we want to know and we will be there to help out in anyway we can.

When does the family pay the placement fee?

The family pays the agency a placement fee when, and only when, a nanny is hired. The placement fee is due at that time and not before.

Is the agency insured?

Yes, the agency is insured.

Does the agency always meet and interview all the nannies in person?

Yes, the agency always meets and interviews with the nanny.
